Welcome to the What is? Blog and Why it's here

Welcome to the “What is NeoTantra” blog.

A word of explanation on the title: It has little to do with the real person calling himself by the misleading moniker “Jason Tantra” but his example is so perfect for illustrating what I have to say on this blog that he and his “company” have earned the dubious distinction of being the paradigm of an insidious and harmful movement. That statement will be confirmed by real and true facts, as well as by Jason Tantra’s own statements, publications, and responses. I rely on my readers’ freedom of choice and good judgment to make their own decisions based on the Tantra 4 Gay Men Internet presence, Jason Tantra’s publications (YouTube and elsewhere), and his personal communications with the blogger and me.

Millions of human beings have resorted to some very damaging trends and practices

The toxic evolution of Western society and cultures has created a deplorable situation of perceived despair in many groups, particularly in the United States and Western Europe, most noticeably in the more "progressive" countries. The result is that millions of human beings have resorted to some very damaging trends and practices to avoid confronting their otherwise obvious needs.
With the apparent collapse of traditional culture carriers like the family, morality, ethics, and generally those value and guidance structures that provided support to individuals secure and safe in their communities but even more importantly, a structure of security and support that enabled the less-adaptive or the marginalized to feel valued and tolerated, if not accepted in their communities.
Much has been written about the pathological effects of the so-called "social media" that has proliferated on the Internet. Religious leaders, mystics, and philosophers have been warning of the decline of humanity and the rise of false prophets and fake gurus offering quick fixes for a price.

Quick fixes that don't work and problems that have become exponentially worse

The whole world is vulnerable to the attacks and bombardments of frequently misleading and often harmful marketing from corporations and entrepreneurs of every sort offering quick fixes to old problems, creating a new problem: quick fixes that don't work and problems that have become exponentially worse than the original problem.
A once critical and intelligent species has become a gullible, vulnerable, ignorant biomass with no boundaries and no values.
This entire blog will be devoted to the example of one such community, rather group, because it is indeed too diverse and too heterogeneous to be called a "community" as most of us in the field of psychospiritual support would define the term. The example will serve to illustrate how the group has become a target for at least one type of product or service, whose purveyors focus on and take advantage of specific vulnerabilities of the group, and thus become what we can fairly call an addiction. In fact, the purveyors and their services literally provide fertile ground for the nurturing of a negative stereotype associated with our specific group of interest.

The error being committed by the subject group is enhancing a negative stereotype

Moreover, the pratfall[1]of the group of interest is that those who wolf down the prattle and the snake-oil offered by the service providers is that they, the victims, are feeding a disorder, an addiction, and attempting to fill a purulent wound with even more inflammatory material; in other words, the error being committed by the subject group is enhancing a negative stereotype associated with the group.

It’s simply physical arousal and sex techniques, which are falsely claimed by what I call the snake-oil salesmen to lead to self-awareness, ecstasy, bliss, and even enlightenment

The group to which I am referring in this blog is the homosexual or the gay culture, men who are attracted to other men in a physical, emotional, and spiritual way, and who actively practice that attraction as a lifestyle. More particularly, I am referring to a subculture of those men who for one reason or another, be it loneliness, emptiness, lust, or genuine spirituality are attracted by offerings of instruction or training in intimacy, sensuality, spirituality, or simply physical arousal and sex techniques, which are claimed by what I call the snake-oil salesmen to lead to self-awareness, ecstasy, bliss, and even enlightenment.

Neotantra is in fact nothing other than a set of sexual practices devoid of the essential discipline, ritual, philosophy, and spirituality

The snake-oil salesmen, in fact, hijack an ancient tradition of India, Tantra, to lend some superficial legitimacy to their product and baptize their product with the name Neotantra,[2]which is in fact nothing other than a set of sexual practices devoid of the essential discipline, ritual, philosophy, and spirituality of the authentic tradition.

While they are “false prophets,” their goal is “real profit.”

Make no mistake about what I have to say: The very individuals, the fake gurus, offering these trainings, instruction, therapies, and services are burdened with more psychological and emotional baggage than the men they are claiming to help! In fact, anyone with any familiarity with the philosophy and teaching of Yoga or Tantra would have no problem picking up on the fake gurus’ narcissism and codswallop[3]. In other words, they are “false shepherds” or charlatans out to misuse and abuse an ignorant and vulnerable population for the sake of profit. While they are “false prophets,” their goal is “real profit.”

Neotantra, more accurately called pseudoTantra, is a parody of the ancient Tradition

The particular example of this phenomenon on which I will rely in the context of this exposé is the creation of one Jason Tantra, an individual who has the audacity to have assumed the ancient Tradition’s moniker as his own in an attempt to garner some sense of legitimacy, albeit transparent and failed. That creation of Jason Tantra’s is not only his reinvention of himself but of a company called Tantra 4 Gay Men, a parody of the ancient Tradition but an epitomic example of the crude and perverse, characteristically negative transformation of a noble and ancient Tradition.
With that introduction, let me conclude by saying that I have chosen this platform and the example of Tantra 4 Gay Men for this exposé because Jason Tantra, despite his marketing prattle and superficial benevolence, all of which is a cover for a troubled and misguided spirit, has proven to be a sneaky and nasty self-serving entrepreneur, who will stop at nothing to ensure that he captures his prey. I make that statement based on personal experience of Jason Tantra’s way of dealing with any criticism. I shall be more than pleased to share some personal communications from Jason Tantra that more than illustrate, they prove everything that I share on this blog. If you are interested in receiving those communications, please address your request to a special email account set up for this blog: ContactMe.
Jason Tantra exposed his true insecurities by ambushing a former blog and, rather than behaving like a true practitioner of yogic Tantra rather than a charlatan and fake, underhandedly managed to have the entire blog taken down without so much as a word to the blog owner. That sort of behavior is not what anyone can characterize as ethical, noble or guru. The articles that so frightened Jason Tantra are reproduced on this blog for your information.

Thank you for your interest and for your comments.
Namasté! Shanti, shanti, shantihe!

[1] Pratfall is an interesting but unfamiliar term to most readers. The word means literally to fall on one’s buttocks, to commit an embarrassing or humiliating action. While I refer to the subject group as committing a pratfall in the negative sense, there is in some situations a positive effect by such a blunder. For example, in social psychology, there is what is called the “pratfall effect”, that is, the tendency for interpersonal appeal to increase after an individual makes a mistake, a blunder, or an embarrassment, depending on that individual's perceived ability to perform well in a general sense. A person perceived to be highly desirable or likable — regardless of the moral or ethical quality of the assessment critieria — would be considered more likable after committing a blunder, while a perceived average person would be considered less likable.
[2] The branding of Neotantra as a genuine “spiritual” discipline as opposed to the simple reality that it is purely physical and sex-focused, is misleading; the movement should properly be called pseudoTantra, that is, like its I gurus it is fake Tantra.
[3] Balderdash, gibberish, hogwash better known as bullshit.
