An Explanation from Me to You WordPress has been focusing on generating paid subscriptions. That became obvious several months ago when they started sending out daily "sales" emails to otherwise free site operators. Almost daily I was receiving messages about how great it would be to have the options of a paid subscription, and almost daily I'd receive one of those, "Hurry! Time's running out!" sale annoucements from WordPress. Their sale scam was obvious: How can you have a special offer to save 20% on a paid plan every week? The real scam came when I did the math. You see, WordPress increased their fees for their paid subscriptions about a year ago, just when they started offering the 20% off sales.
