About Our Move from WordPress to Googel

An Explanation from Me to You

WordPress has been focusing on generating paid subscriptions. That became obvious several months ago when they started sending out daily "sales" emails to otherwise free site operators. Almost daily I was receiving messages about how great it would be to have the options of a paid subscription, and almost daily I'd receive one of those, "Hurry! Time's running out!" sale annoucements from WordPress.

Their sale scam was obvious: How can you have a special offer to save 20% on a paid plan every week? The real scam came when I did the math. You see, WordPress increased their fees for their paid subscriptions about a year ago, just when they started offering the 20% off sales. I wrote to them telling them that upping the price by 20% and then offering what amounted to 17% discount was dishonest.

Then the problems started with my blogs. At first it was just routine access and then it got really serious when content started to disappear.

As a professional chaplain, I had several blogs on ministry and pastoral care, homiletics, bereavement care, and other subjects.

A short time ago, I posted some critical op-eds about neotantra or operators selling "sacred sex services." One such operator calling himself "Jason Tantra" and operating a company "Tantra for Gay Men" was particularly interesting because the man didn't even bother to disguise the fact that he's a sex worker and taking advantage of vulnerable gay and bisexual men, who have real problems. Jason Tantra, I discovered, is nearly illiterate and, although he posts all over the Internet and is such a narcissist he posts is incredibly stupid selfie videos on YouTube but doesn't have a clue about what he;s talking about. Every other word is "sex" or "orgasm" which is not Tantra!

When I had the decency to send him the links to my comments and to ask him for his response, he sent an almost unintelligible diatribe but didn't respond to a single fact I presented in the articles.

"Jason Tantra" of Tantra 4 Gay Men.
Making Money from a Scam.

In subsequent communications he convinced me that he knows nothing about real Tantra, nothing about Yoga, and may have significant psychological and personal problems. I simply could not understand how he could be "helping" gay and bisexual men to find love and enlightenment when he, himself, was so troubled.

That's when the fun started. Jason Tantra, without warning, contacted WordPress and somehow managed to have WordPress delete the entire Homoerotic Tantra blog! Not just the articles about Jason Tantra and his scam, Tantra 4 Gay Men, but the entire blog and its contents!

When I contacted WordPress, the initial response was that the blog violated their Terms of Service, so I reviewed the TOS and couldn't find a single thing that applied to my content! I contacted WordPress again and demanded an explanation. WordPress then responded with this:

Upon review of your WordPress.com site we have determined that your content does not align with our Terms of Service or User Guidelines. As stated in our Terms, we may choose to stop providing service to an account at any time, for any reason, or none at all.
As such, your site has been suspended and will not be returned.
Game over. Obviously WordPress, a company operated by Automattic or Knox (Knox | Community Guardian | WordPress.com) or whatever, couldn't do better that that. Time to go!

But what's worse, even after having deleted the site, giving a phony reason for having done so, and then when cornered coming up with a really stupid satement: "we may choose to stop providing service to an account at any time, for any reason, or none at all, they actually had the balls to suggest "you might consider a self-hosted WordPress installation. You can follow the guide located here to successfully transfer your content to a more suitable WordPress host."

The scam became even more conspicuous when they offered "the guide": "The Guided Transfer is a one-time fee of $129.00 per blog transferred, and is available for purchase by going to My Sites → Tools → Export."

Well, that made the decision for me. That's why we're now on Google.
